Traditional Migraines can occur with or without aura, which means you can have (or not) visual disturbances. These visual disturbances are blind spots, seeing colors, or shades of gray or black. An ocular migraine include the types of visual "hallucinations" but that only occur in one eye. The visual changes are not permanent in any situation, but often refer patients to clinics of migraine most doctors. Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland fame, before migraine hallucinations as primary sources for the creation of children's book classic. Migraine, with or without aura, because of changes in brain blood vessels. The blood vessels become inflamed, causing inflammation, which then shrinks the blood vessels further. The optical changes observed in traditional migraines are caused by the occipital cortex perceive changes in vision due to blood vessels and inflammation. With an ocular migraine, however, the visual changes occur in retinal blood vessels, which become inflamed and cause alterations visual.
According to experts in migraine, the most common triggers for migraines include stress, lack of sleep and skipping meals. Other triggers include weather or altitude changes, pollution, smells, all sorts of trouble sleeping, and other senses, such as lighting. The foods including aspartame or MSG (monosodium glutamate) have also been identified as triggers of migraines. Another major trigger is cigarette smoking, as it contracts and small blood vessels. Migraines tend to effect women more than men, estrogen increases the likelihood of migraines, states research. However, it is unclear how estrogen does this. Some women find that lower estrogen levels cause migraine while others say that too much estrogen caused the problem. Many women find their natural cycle of the rules in force when the next migraine will occur.
Experts say that prevention is the easiest way to deal with a migraine. This means identifying their own pattern of migraines and triggers. Some experts prescribe or recommend non-migraine medications daily to prevent migraine. Doctors also have a different state "window of opportunity" in which migraines are beginning and may be more easily treated without them run their course. This period is limited to the first When the headache. However, experts admit that they suffer more migraine who do not want to put the ineffable and are convinced that only having a tension headache.
Once a migraine has started, several types of drugs can be used to treat them. In the-counter medications such as Tylenol or Advil, have helped some headaches while others use other anti-inflammatory agents to treat migraine headaches. These drugs are focused on helping the body deal with the pain of migraine. New drugs called triptans provide treatment of blood vessels, which essentially helps stop migraine in its root cause. These drugs include sumatriptan, zolmitriptan, and naratriptan. However, the classification of triptans does not help with ocular migraines and could intensify problems leading to vision loss vision. However, some migraine sufferers do not feel comfortable always relying on drugs to prevent or treat migraine headaches. Doctors suggest, and very encouraging, patients to remain on a consistent schedule for meals and sleep disorders with daily events that could lead to more stress and / or migraines themselves. Others promote the use of supplements such as magnesium, riboflavin and coenzyme Q10. However, they stress that the correct dose should be continued for at least three months before the desired effects can be perceived. Doctors suggest 500 mg of magnesium, 400, riboflavin (B-12), and 150 mg of coenzyme Q10. Other types of herbs have Anecdotal evidence of care in preventive measures, which include butterbur or feverfew. Doctors warn that enforcement procedures are not limited herbs, a brand can be more powerful than others with what doctors suggest caution and use a reputable brand. However, patients with migraine others use the acupuncture to relieve the pressure of migraine and Botox, as its main use is the paralysis of the muscles. Studies are underway to support anecdotal evidence promoters suggests Botox. Doctors believe that migraine patients may find eye sunglasses, either simple or prescription, based on the lengths wave seem to have difficulty with.
Despite the widespread belief that once the migraines were "just another headache" Many advances have to understand and treat the source of the problem. As always, consult your doctor for your individual case before adjusting their treatment of migraine. Adverse events should always contact your physician.

In a study testing a new drug to treat migraines, 25% control, which had received a placebo, and 46% of the experimental group reported an improvement in their symptoms. We conclude that this is an effective drug? What variables in the study may have influenced whether participants benefited from the new drug?
Sufficient information simply have not given an answer. How valid is the method for determining "improvement" for example? It's the difference between 25% and 46% statistically significant? (with small numbers is very easily not be) If there is no statistical significance, which is also clinically significant? The list of possibilities is endless. And we have not even discussed the possibility of confounding variables, or even if the study is blind or random. Find me a pharmaceutical company wants to give me a lot of money. I'll find a control group of patients whose migraines tend to last all day. I also recruit a treatment group whose migraines tend to last an hour, and I 25 of them to the wonder drug. If only 14 do what they usually do, I have my 46%, and the possibility that any of my control group is improving very low. And if luck is against me, I'm going not to publish the results, but repeating the experiment until you get the results I want. (Actually, that's why I rejected offers pharmaceutical companies to do clinical research.)
