Visual Migraines

visual migraines

Millions of people suffer from painful migraines. So what can you do when a migraine occurs unbearable, suddenly? The following are some remedies large home for migraines can be applied quickly and get fast relief.

Migraine is a severe headache that is extremely painful and may even be an impediment for many. Migraines are common among the population as a whole. In the U.S., 18% of women and 6% of men report having had at least one migraine headache in the past year. Migraines affect about 30 million people in the United States. They can occur at any age, but usually begin between the ages of 10 and 40 and may begin to decline after age 50. Some people experience several migraines a month, while others have only a few migraines throughout their lives. Approximately 75% of all migraine sufferers are women.

Some people complain that the visual problems accompany their migraine. These visual symptoms include; of brilliant bright lights around objects or at the edges of the visual field, lines zigzag, wavy images, or hallucinations.

Other symptoms may include severe pain in the temple area, around the eyes or in the back head. Additionally, migraines can be accompanied by nausea, fatigue or tiredness, mood swings and a day or two before the headache.

In some cases, migraines seem to run in families. If one of your parents suffered with migraines, there’s a good chance that you will too.

Then, What event triggers severe migraines? In most cases, migraines are caused by the following triggers, stress, anxiety, fatigue, certain medications, alcohol and certain foods. Monosodium glutamate (also known as MSG), is believed to be a factor in causing migraines severe for a number of people. MSG is commonly used ingredient in Chinese and Asian cuisine.

Home Remedies for migraine conventional focus on trigger avoidance and symptom control. If you find that eating certain foods or situations are often followed by a migraine, to avoid in the future. This is common sense, but many people do not make the connection between the two events.

Another good home remedies for migraine is moderation in alcohol and caffeine. These are common triggers. Home remedies for migraine should also include getting enough sleep, eat meals at intervals regular, and drink plenty of fluids. Dehydration is also very common trigger for severe migraines.

Massage therapies are often very effective forms of home remedies for migraine headaches. If you feel a migraine coming on, get a massage. Headaches and migraines are frequently caused severe by stress. When you are stressed, your muscles tighten up. A massage works gently stretch the muscles and help relieve the tension built up in your body. By working the muscles of her neck and shoulders and the base of the skull, the muscles relax and the nuisance will be deleted. Ideally, this technique works best if someone else does it for you, but if that is not an option, you can have a massage of neck and head. A massage is one of my personal favorite home remedies for migraines.

Some people get some relief by applying either a hot or cold compress to the affected area. Most people reports that a cold compress works best, but if that is not effective, try a hot compress.

Acupressure is also one of the good home remedies for migraine. Like acupuncture is an alternative treatment known for many medical problems that has been used for thousands of years. For headache pain relief, compression of the fleshy area between thumb and index finger for at least five minutes for one of the quick remedies for migraines. Many people may also relieve migraine pain by stroking [using small circular movements] little slits right in front of your ears.

If have tried these home remedies for migraine and are still in pain, there is another good alternative. Additional information by downloading my other action Quick Home Remedies for migraine.

magnesium migraine
treatment of migraine with magnesium?

OK so some people suggested the treatment of migraine with my magnesium. I have pills calcium and magnesium that have 173mg of calcium and 100 milligrams of magnesium. How many can I safely take now to help my migraine? The bottle says take one with 3 meals a day, but I do not know if I should have 3 now, or if thats security, or what …

You should start wth what it says on the bottle and increase to get some then you know how much relief you need to take to stop the headaches. I was surprised once when I took a liquid form and immediately arrested. However, need to ensure that you are not taking a form of calcium and which is zero Magnsium rock – I’ve seen a lot. You need the whole food supplements that the body recognizes as food. If calcium magnesium is not helping, you need magnesium itself. Chances are you’re getting the calcium in your diet. I’ve also seen this imbalance.

severe migraine
Botox for migraine headaches strong! Has any successfully used??

I’ve had migraine headaches since I was 13. I am 29 now and for the last 9 months I have been so severe that they are interupting my life. Family, work, etc. .. I’ve been on dozens of medications, as well oxygen therapy for them without success. I know my doctor wants to do Botox injections. My insurance company has agreed to pay for them. But I’m kind of reluctant to do so due to side effects. I work as a nurse, and have several Physicans as friends. But none of us really heard much about Botox for migraines. I found a couple of case studies on the web, but were rather skechy about the details. Has anyone had done? Or know someone who has? Or any another place I could find more information. I really want to know if it works. I’m pretty desperate for relief and return to my life. Thanks much! Kali :-)

What Causes Migraine

Posted by admin on October 8, 2009

what causes migraine

Migraine is a severe headache which recurs. You may experience migraines a month or once or twice a year. Migraines may be accompanied by extreme sensitivity to light and sound, nausea and vomiting. A severe migraine is disabling for most people. Migraines have long been time a sort of medical mystery. Researchers are not sure of the exact cause of migraines, but over the years have built some theories. This Article going to be possible causes of migraine.

Many researchers believe that migraines are caused by an imbalance in the complex system of nerves in the brain and neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are chemicals in the brain responsible for pain perception and emotions.

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter researchers have studied. It has been shown that when you have a headache, the levels of serotonin drops. This in turn causes the trigeminal nerve in your brain to release neuro peptides. These chemicals cause blood vessels on the outside deck of his brain to swell and the resulting pressure causes a headache. This is the presumed mechanism of how it develops a headache, but what makes this happen.

Headaches can be the result of certain triggers. The triggers that can cause a migraine attack are:

- Certain foods can trigger a migraine attack in a lot of people. Food Common triggers are alcohol, chocolate, caffeine, cheese, MSG, and other canned foods or processed.

- Sometimes, skipping a meal may also cause a migraine.

- Intense physical activity, like sex, can trigger a migraine. Much sleep or too little sleep can also be a trigger.

- Stress is a major factor in triggering migraines. If you have worked hard all week and are beginning to relax on the weekend can be ruined by a weekend migraine.

- Any type of change in their environment, such as climate, temperature, barometric pressure and a change in time zone, can trigger a migraine.

- Some people are too sensitive to bright lights all kinds of sensory stimuli, such as, and certain smells. Certain perfumes or flowers have been known to trigger the migraine pain.

- Women who are going through hormonal changes will be more at risk of developing a migraine. Researchers are not sure why the fluctuations of hormones trigger a migraine, but the incidence migraines seem to increase just before or during the period of a woman.

- Certain medications have been know to trigger migraines.

If you have headaches, frequent migraine, try to identify the trigger for them. Try keeping a diary of everything you eat or do it outside the normal working day each. When you have a migraine again read through your journal and try to identify a possible trigger. If you have not started treatment for migraines, see your doctor. He may prescribe a medicine that reduces migraines or make them less intense. Do not suffer more pain, to find the cause of their migraine headaches.

Migraine Prevention

migraine prevention

You should consider consuming vitamins for the prevention of migraine, as studies show the link between a higher risk of developing debilitating headaches when you are deficient in certain vitamins and minerals. If you eat a balanced diet for health, then this is not likely to happen. Moreover, most of us do not eat well for a variety of reasons. For prevention of migraine, I suggest you try taking supplements of the following, especially B2 (riboflavin), B6 (pyridoxine) calcium and magnesium.

In fact, you may already have heard of magnesium to be effective in reducing the frequency and intensity of their migraine headaches. The Studies show that if you suffer from migraines probably will not have enough of this mineral in the brain. This treatment of headache pain product is required for the proper performance of serotonin.

In addition, magnesium affects the arteries. When your body is low in magnesium, your arteries constrict more. Hence, you can consume more green leafy vegetables, whole grains, fish, beans and nuts. However, please note what you eat because some of these foods, including nuts, can also cause headaches. For this reason, you may wish to consider magnesium supplements instead.

Calcium is another mineral that can be found in green leafy vegetables. Other sources of calcium found in dairy products and seafood. If you are taking supplements of magnesium and decide to take calcium supplements also then you should know that you can not take the same time of day because calcium can block your ability to properly absorb magnesium. Therefore, you should take take at different times of day, say one of the morning and once in the afternoon.

Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) and vitamin B6 have been tested products headache relief to reduce the number of migraines you have. While you may prefer to take a B complex supplement, please note that the other B vitamins not have demonstrated the headache treatment products. However, it could still take the other B vitamins, however, as they are known to reduce the risk of accidents stroke.

It is best to consult your doctor about the consumption of vitamins listed above for the prevention of migraine. Ask about the recommended doses to take. You should always make sure to eat healthier so that you get from natural sources of these vitamins.
