2. photophobia (sensitivity to light) and phonophobia (sensitivity to sound)
The main difference between migraine and retinal migraine with aura (neurological phenomenon) is that the former has monocular visual symptoms, and total, but temporary, monocular blindness.
Since no one knows the causes of Migraine disease, the diagnosis is made by following the personal and family medical history to rule out other causes of symptoms.
Treatment and Remedies
There several over-the-counter medications can provide migraine resources or help in relieving symptoms of attacks when occur. For most people, treatments to relieve stress prove to be equally useful as resources for migraine.
Retinal migraine is a diagnosis of exclusion, however, and patients generally require a complete cardiovascular evaluation to rule out vascular disease and other embolic as a cause of visual loss. Patients diagnosed with this condition can be treated the same way that patients with migraine.
Patients with rare events are given drugs used for other forms of migraine to relieve other symptoms. These medications may include nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), medicine for nausea and others. The choice of drugs may depend on the age of the patient's severity of illness. For frequent migraine attacks, used the same preventive therapies for migraines can be a further explored. But as always, remember to consult your physician for proper diagnosis of their condition before taking any medication.
